DevOps Engineer 1

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

DevOps Role:


As an Aeropay DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing application solutions both in the cloud as well as participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the DevOps space. Implement scalable, resilient, and secure solutions in a public cloud, especially in AWS.


DevOps Engineer Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in Cloud and understanding of best practices.
  • AWS DevOps certification is a plus.
  • At least one year of experience with Observability (Application Performance Monitoring).
  • Must have at least one year of experience building and maintaining infrastructure as code.
  • Configuration management (IAAS).
  • Must have at least one year of experience with IT operations and production systems management.
  • Serve as liaison between the DevOps team and the grander company when it comes to communicating security and infrastructure needs.
  • Continual evaluation of efficiency and automation of process across the company and maintenance of organizational objectives to apply improvements.
  • In collaboration with engineer and product teams, facilitate and support the day to day management and implementation of Cloud services for the Aeropay platform.
  • Manage relationships across internal stakeholders and support company culture initiatives.


Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working with the following technologies: Python, JavaScript, SQL, RESTful APIs, AWS, Git, Elasticsearch, etc.
  • Acumen and experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • A passion for learning and an instinct to ask questions.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern web development with previous experience in QA, UAT, performance testing, error reporting, agile, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of SDLC automation tools and ability to understand, monitor, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to dig in and get the job done for the benefit of the team.

  • Chicago based role
  • First 90 days are in person; after 90 days this will become a hybrid role
