We know with all the threats and new apps out there, security is a major concern. One of our primary reasons for creating AeroPay is that we were dissatisfied with the risks that were presented with old and traditional payment methods. Cash can be misplaced or stolen, and credit cards can be easily hacked. Paying with AeroPay provides the convenience of paying with cash, without the risks of carrying it.
We keep your payments safe with our patent-pending security model which uses a series of unique variables to encrypt every transaction by time and place. These unique encrypted transactions expire quickly, and only represent unique identifiers of a merchant, customer and order value. No financial information is ever stored or passed in a transaction because we do not store financial information on our system.
AeroPay leverages the Dwolla API provided by our ACH technology provider, Dwolla Inc, together with their network of bank and financial institution partners. Dwolla employs bank-level security techniques including the same standard security protocols used in online banking, and other practices used in most financial mobile apps.
AeroPay connects directly to your bank account through our partner but will never store any specific information. We will never see balances, account or routing numbers and we never store any financial PII (personally identifiable information). For example, imagine a bridge to your bank, we can create the bridge but we can never cross the bridge to see the other side. This protects you and our system since we will never retain sensitive payment information.
AeroPay also enables the latest techniques in mobile application authentication with biometric scanning and PIN codes. These are optional features, but highly encouraged. When registering an account, all users must go through 2-factor SMS verification. This is widely recognized as one of the safest methods in mobile application account registration. We’ve also enabled cutting edge remote payment technology that will enhance user experience but also contribute to security. Users will be able to securely connect to stores through patented micro-location technology, that reads the distance between two devices. This allows for an enclosed environment where the payment occurs between the customer and merchant. Soon we will be integrating facial-recognition technology in addition to our remote payment feature.
Security is not something we take lightly, it isn’t just part of our software, it is a major business objective for us. Paper cash, plastic cards and virtual credit cards are no longer the most secure methods of paying at a brick & mortar store. AeroPay aims at changing this trend and putting security at the forefront of what we do and how we do it. Questions? Feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
